It’s that time of year again!
The 12th annual Lakewood Hospital Ambulance Chase, presented by Donald Martens & Sons Ambulance Services is back.
The race will be held at Lakewood Park on May 5th. Participants can run the 5k, walk the mile, or kids can participate in the Children’s Chase.
The money raised will go towards Lakewood Hospital’s many rehabilitation services and patient programs. Runners have raised over $400,000 from these races.
April 23 is the deadline for early registration. Early registered participants will be guaranteed to receive a free t-shirt at the time of the race. Registration fees are $20 per participant before April 23, and $25 per participant thereafter. Early registered groups of ten or more receive a discounted price.
Erin Turner, sophomore, says, “The ambulance race is a great Lakewood tradition that I look forward too every year. I just hope the weather’s nice.”
The one-mile walk starts at 8:30a.m. and the 5k run/walk begins at 9:30 a.m. The fun is for the whole family. The Children’s Chase begins at 9:45 am; strollers and wagons are welcome.
Prizes will be given out to the top placing man and woman, and top runners in each age group.
