The nineteenth-annual Tri-C High School Rock off is coming! It starts Friday, Jan. 9, at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.Tickets are only $10 each. Lakewood High has their own band, The Foolish Souls, comprised of junior Nick Bilski, sophomores Collin Miller and Eric Lauer, and freshmen Lane Neumarker and Caleb Mowery will be competing for a prize that includes the chance to record an album at the Tri-C recording studios.
This is the first year since 2007 that the Rock-Off has been hosted at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Rock Hall is one of the many things that makes Cleveland unique as it is a truly interesting place. There are many famous Rock and Roll artifacts at the Hall of Fame, and if you haven’t been you really should go and see it.
In the competition, there will be Lakewood students rocking the night away. As I said earlier, the Foolish Souls will be performing. I have personally heard their music, and they have a very unique sound. Singing their vocals, and on the guitar, is Miller, on another guitar is Bilski, Mowery slaps the bass, Neumarker plays some very entertaining beats on the drums, and Lauer chimes in with the rap. It certainly is a very unique and entertaining sound.
If you can, you should go to the Rock hall to cheer them on Jan.9. It should promise to be an interesting event.
