On Saturday, January 23rd in the Civic Auditorium, The Lakewood Project will take the stage for another one of their priceless performances. This time the theme is the 70’s or more specifically, Disco Inferno. The members of Lakewood’s prized rock orchestra will join on stage dressed like they came right out of the 70’s. The show they will put on will consist of disco music and disco dancing. They are also having a contest for a special someone in the audience. The member of the crowd that has the best 70’s themed costume will win lifetime tickets to any and all Lakewood Project concerts. So dress up for a chance to win!
The Lakewood Project is the only rock orchestra you will ever find. Our one-of-a-kind incredible performers put on a show like none other. In the past the’ve done a Beatles show, a 90’s show, and one for just about every other decade with music. The songs are completely with instruments, no lyrics. The instruments used include: violins, viola, cellos, drums, piano, harp, guitar, and bass. All of them are amplified and quite a few members even use electric versions of their instruments. Commonly, those who are using electric instruments are standing in front while the other instruments are positioned and elevated in the back. The members of this organization all tried out to get in the position that they are in and practice only once a week to get all of their songs perfect.
This is an incredibly talented group of musicians and students. They work very hard to get every show the best it can be, so get your disco on and come out to support the Lakewood Project for Disco Inferno!
