After this past week’s election, the results are in for the Lakewood candidates.
Mayor Mike Summers still remains the mayor of Lakewood after holding the position for 5 years. Summers won the vote by nearly two thousand votes. The final tally was Mike summers with 7700 and Mike Skindell with 5769.
Summers will begin his second term in January 2016.
Lakewood Municipal Court Judge, Patrick Carroll won another term by surpassing Brian Trubman by nearly 4000 votes. Carroll received a total of 9296 votes and Traubman received 3444 votes.
The Lakewood charter change regarding keeping Lakewood Hospital open was defeated with a total of 7017 no votes, 500 more than the yes votes.
The three wards across Lakewood reappointed the same representatives. David Anderson won Ward 1 with 1674 votes. Ward 2 was won by Sam O’Leary with a total of 1869 votes. Finally, John Litten won Ward 3 with his votes totaling 2000.
Voters also re-elected the Lakewood Board of Education member Tom Einhouse. Einhouse is vice president of facilities and capital for the Playhouse Square Foundation. In that role, he has overseen extensive renovations and restorations. This will be Tom’s second term serving the board.
Also re-elected were board members Linda Beebe and Emma Petrie-Barcelona. Petrie-Barcelona only defeated challenger Meghan George by 1 vote, triggering a automatic recount
