The forthcoming issue of The Lakewood Times will celebrate LHS as it looks towards summer break, and with it, the graduating class of 2014. We look to discuss spring sports, highlight departing staff, and see what LHS did during a school year full of both innovations and traditions.
However, we wish to focus on you, the seniors, currently reading this article. You who have lived in this school for four years, participating in its activities, speaking its voice, and doing its drudgery. We want you to write to us about how you have lived here, what has been great, bad, humorous, sad, or defining. How has Lakewood High School shaped who you are and what you want to be?
If you’d be interested in submitting a little essay, please write according to the following guidelines. First, limit your thoughts to 300 to 500 words. I know that this is limiting, but focus on an anecdote, a person, or an idea if you must. Secondly, provide some information about where you’ll be going after high school (if college include majors and what not) and if LHS influenced this destiny. Thirdly, all stories must be delivered to Dennis Ebner in Room B207 or emailed to M.Morgenstern8866@lakewoodcityschools.org by May 1.
So please, if you ever wanted to write for the Times, or speak for the people who haven’t had a voice, or just do something to go out with a bang, please submit. It’s the time for the students of Lakewood High School to truly write its newspaper.
