Lakewood High School has been hosting the Red Cross blood drive for many years, and hopefully for many more to come.
The blood drive will be held on February 24th from 2:00-7:00 pm in the East Cafeteria. Giving blood is a great way to give back to other people, and also to yourself. Every time that you participate in donating blood, you can help at least three people in need of your blood.
Donating blood can also be helpful to the donor; it is proven to reduce the risk of heart disease. The American Red Cross has been going on since 1881. Today, the donors are helping people who have been affected by disaster, disease, or injury.
There are endless reasons why you should donate blood, but the biggest being that you can be someone’s hero by giving an hour of your time to the American Red Cross.
